as told by the Sports Guru

- Matt Ryan(Boston College)- Reminds me a lot of Matt Hasselbeck, can excel in the right situation. Has decent tools and could be a perennial Pro Bowler (again in the right situation). He is this year’s safest pick, seeing as where he will be productive.
- Brian Brohm(Louisville)- Another “safe pick” he has the head and the intangibles to run an offense, the question will be can he overcome his lacks in certain areas (i.e. arm strength) by using his strengths (accuracy) He probably would need to bulk up a bit more, but since he might not be playing right away (mid 1st round) he should have a QB ahead of him, or a decent OL at least.
- Chad Henne(Michigan)- This year’s “potential” pick. In Henne’s somewhat inconsistent years at Michigan he showed promise (capable of being a Hall of Fame QB) but then on the next play looked like he should not even be starting. Granted most of the time is was something in between, but his inconsistency (albeit not grave) could stand in the way of him seeing the field often.
- Andre Woodson(Kentucky)- Another inconsistent QB, but man this guy has to have the best tools in the draft. Kentucky QB coach Randy Sanders has worked the serious kinks out and helped Woodson to be a much more polished passer. Woodson needs to work on what seems to be his confidence that someone is open, he holds onto the ball way too long sometimes. Good thing for him he will be drafted with the hopes of grooming him for the future. If he can make the best of it, he may be the best in the draft after all is said and done
- Joe Flacco(Delaware)- Small school guy with a huge arm, and large frame. He has shown the ability to make the throws necessary in the league, but the question remains, “Can he throw them on a consistent basis?” At his level of competition (FCS(ed. note I still will call it D I-AA)) he did not have to be consistent with his throws or his reads, he could just overpower his throws past bad coverage, not necessarily making the best throw. He could be a serviceable backup, or a decent journeyman starter (i.e. a better Gus Frerotte).
